Martin County 6th Grade Superteam which consists of students from Eden, Inez, and Warfield Elementary had a great day competing in their academic competition, 6th Grade Showcase, at Pikeville High School today. The team came home with 2nd place OVERALL, 2nd place Quick Recall, and the following individual awards: Math 4th Place-Mayson Phillips Social Studies 3rd Place-Kennedy Mills 4th Place-Jonah Alley 6th Place-Jett Blair Language Arts 3rd Place-Jonah Alley 6th Place-Emma Fletcher Arts and Humanities 3rd Place-Samantha Byrd 4th Place-Aubree Muncy 6th Place-Kinley Harmon Science 4th Place-Johnathon Muncy Written Composition 1st Place-Kennedy Mills 6th Place-Mallory Hale Coaches Jessica Dye, Shayna Horn, Lora Hale, Erica Ball, Mandy Lawson, and Kathy Kerr are very proud of these students. Update: Christmas in the Mountains Parents as of today, the school will be covering the field trip fees! Any money you have sent for the field trip will be returned, unless you decide to allow your child's teacher to keep the money towards their class Christmas Party. Also, students may bring extra money for snacks or other items sold at "Christmas in the Mountains." PLEASE dress your child in warm clothing. They will need a heavy coat, sweater, gloves, etc... The Temperature is forecasted to be: 26 degrees at 8:30 and warm up to 46 degrees by 2:00. This means it will be very COLD! * To attend the field trip, students MUST come dressed in warm clothing due to frigid temperatures.
