Return to Virtual Learning

Martin County School District always has the health and well-being of our students and staff at the forefront each day. We want to notify you of positive cases of COVID-19 in our school community.

This morning we were notified of three new positive cases of COVID-19 among Martin County School District students. Each of the following schools has a positive case: Warfield Elementary, Martin County Middle School, and Martin County High School. Our administration is working with the Martin County Health Department to perform contact tracing and to notify anyone who may have been in contact with these students. Thorough cleaning and sanitation are ongoing and will continue to prevent the spread of the virus.

Due to increased cases within our school population and community, we will return to virtual learning Friday, October 16, 2020. We will reevaluate the return to in-person classes once cases decline in Martin County. Students who have been receiving in-person instruction will transition back to Google Classroom, those who have been virtual learners will continue their curriculum in Edgenuity or Apex.

Meal delivery will begin Monday, October 19, with meals scheduled for delivery each day next week.

Please monitor your children for common symptoms of the virus: fever, cough, headaches, body aches, and shortness of breath.
When in-person classes resume, do not send your children to school if you believe the child has been exposed to the virus or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test. Please contact your healthcare provider with any questions or concerns.
